What is the flower of life and how is it used?

What is the flower of life?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that we don’t truly know its origin. It has been found all over the world, in different eras, in several sacred monuments.

The oldest known depiction to date can be seen in the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin in Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the flower of life resides on one of the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient Egyptian city.

Abydos is the first place of worship of Osiris, the god of the Dead, and seemed to represent the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was the main gateway to the afterlife.

The flower of life symbol encompasses many geometric shapes such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron cube, the Vesica Piscis, and Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. This leads us into the realm of sacred geometry. These are forms with perfect proportions, as observed in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), it served as the foundation for the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is believed to be present in everything, in cells, molecular structures… and it would be the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra that possess unique characteristics because they are the basis for all structures. They are the tetrahedron, the hexahedron (or cube), the octahedron, the dodecahedron, and the icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra, and there are only five of them. In order to be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each of its vertices. Additionally, the sum of the angles at the vertices of the regular polygons must be strictly less than 360°.

In terms of mathematics, the Euler’s formula (F+S-A=2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, holds true for the Platonic solids.

In the field of energy, the Platonic solids are used for healing purposes as they improve a person’s vibrational rate. They connect the chakras to universal energy, thereby reinforcing the light bodies.

The flower of life is a form wave that helps elevate the vibrational rate of a person or a place. Form waves are vibrations generated or amplified by a form.

Flower of life patterns can also be used for food and beverages, essential oils, and more.

How to use the flower of life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It helps raise vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It contributes to revitalizing water and enables better food preservation.

It can serve as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on clothing. Some people choose to get the flower of life as a tattoo. If you’re unsure about the part of your body to tattoo the flower of life, you can start with a temporary tattoo.

It can also be used as a meditation support or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can be used to create crystal healing and harmonization grids as well.

How to activate the flower of life?

In terms of spiritual energy, this form wave is a vibration that connects us with the Authentic Source of all life, that is, the divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, there’s no need to activate it or do anything. It works infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be noticeable on the mental, physical, and emotional levels.

Some people talk about activating the flower of life as part of energy work, to anchor the symbols.

But in its everyday use, there’s nothing special to do, except sending thoughts of love and harmony if you want to intensify its action.

How to draw the flower of life?

This figure is formed by nineteen evenly spaced circles with symmetry.

Even though this figure may seem difficult to reproduce at first glance, it’s actually quite easy when you understand how it’s formed.

The essential tool is, of course, the compass, and a surface.

Take your compass and draw a first circle. While keeping the same radius, draw a second circle by placing the compass tip on a point of the first circle’s line. You’ll notice that the intersections are actually the centers of each circle.

Then, place the compass tip on one of the intersections of the two circles previously drawn, and draw a third circle. Continue drawing the four other circles using the same method, and you’ll then obtain the seed of life.

Next, add 12 additional circles around the seed of life following the same procedure.

Done? Perfect! All that’s left is to add the semi-circles to complete the pattern.

There you have it, it was quite easy, wasn’t it?
