The flower of life is a very special symbol, but what is it used for and how can you use it?

What is the flower of life used for?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that its true origin is unknown. It has been identified in sacred buildings worldwide, from different eras.

The oldest known depiction to date is found at the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin in Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the flower of life was found on one of the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient city in Egypt.

Abydos is the most important place of worship for Osiris, the god of the Dead, and was believed to embody the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was the primary gateway to the afterlife.

The flower of life symbol contains many geometric forms such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. This delves into the realm of sacred geometry—forms with perfect proportions found in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), it has enabled the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in absolutely everything, from cells to molecular structures, and it is considered the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra that have unique properties, as they are the foundation of all structures. They are the tetrahedron, hexahedron (or cube), octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra, and there are only five of them. To be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each of its vertices. Furthermore, the sum of the angles at the vertices of regular polygons must be less than 360°.

In terms of mathematics, the Euler’s formula (F+S-A=2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, holds true for Platonic solids.

In the field of energy, Platonic solids are used for healing purposes as they optimize a person’s vibrational frequency. They connect the chakras to universal energy, strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometrical pattern that contributes to raising the vibrational frequency of a person or a space. Geometrical patterns are the vibrations generated or amplified by a shape.

The Flower of Life can also be used with food and beverages, essential oils, and more.

How to use the flower of life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It helps to elevate vibrations by restructuring what is in discord.

It can be used to revitalize water and improve food preservation.

It can be used as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on clothing. Some choose this design as a tattoo. If you’re unsure of where to tattoo the flower of life on your body, you can start with a temporary tattoo.

It can also be used as a meditation aid or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can create healing and harmonizing crystal grids as well.

How to activate the flower of life?

In terms of spiritual energy, this sacred pattern is a vibration that connects us to the Authentic Source of all life, meaning the divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, there is no need to activate it or do anything specific. It acts infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be perceived on the mental, physical, and emotional levels.

Some energy practitioners discuss activating the flower of life in the context of energy work, to anchor the symbols.

However, in everyday use, there is nothing special to do except send thoughts of love and harmony if you wish to intensify its action.

How to draw the flower of life?

This sacred symbol is formed by 19 regularly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

Although it may seem difficult to reproduce at first glance, it is actually quite simple once you understand how it is formed.

The essential tool is, of course, the compass, and a surface to draw on.

Take your compass and draw the first circle. While keeping the same radius, draw a second circle by placing the compass tip on a point of the first circle’s circumference. You will notice that the intersections are actually the central points of each circle.

Then, place the compass tip on one of the intersections of the two previously drawn circles and draw a third circle. Continue to draw the remaining four circles using the same method, and you will then have the seed of life.

Next, add 12 additional circles around the seed of life following the same process.

Done? Perfect! Now, add the semicircles to complete the pattern.

Voilà, it wasn’t so complicated after all.
