All About the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and sparked much interest. In 1999, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book called “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive book on the subject to date. The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric symbol. It has been found on many ancient monuments in various parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlaid circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BCE and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin (now in the Louvre). Another pattern was found on the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt. It is a representation with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It consists of 19 regularly spaced circles that symmetrically overlap.

How to Draw the Flower of Life?

The indispensable tool is obviously the compass. Choose a certain width and keep it constant until you finish drawing the figure, as all the circles have the same radius. Start by drawing the first circle, then the second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle. The second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first one. Continue in this way and draw as many circles as you want, as this figure can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry

The Flower of Life is a symbol of sacred geometry. It contains many symbols of sacred geometry such as the Platonic Solids, Metatron’s Cube, Vesica Piscis, Fibonacci Sequence, and more. Other patterns such as the Seed of Life, Tree of Life, and Egg of Life stem from it. It even has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing called the Vitruvian Man, representing the human body created according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is linked to the Golden Ratio and Divine Proportion, which have been used to build the pyramids of Egypt and cathedrals. Some believe that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to special figures due to their proportions or that appear to be intimately related to the Golden Ratio (or Phi). These figures can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s review the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area, the edges of each Platonic solid are of the same length, and the angles formed by all the edges are the same. If any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that completely encloses it, all its vertices touch the interior surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is believed to be the seal of Archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids originate from the Fruit of Life, a figure hidden within Metatron’s Cube.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “Throne of God” and chariot or chariot. In Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba can be broken down into Mer, meaning “light field,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most prominent figures in the Flower of Life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles with the same diameter, with the center of each circle belonging to the circumference of the other. Also called mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the core of the Flower of Life. It consists of seven circles, resembling the seven days of creation. Composed of six concentric circles and a central circle, for a total of seven, it can be considered as consisting of seven Seed of Life patterns.

What are the Benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form of energy that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It continuously regenerates itself, so there is nothing to do to purify it. This symbol is said to represent creation; that is, the entire universe. The symbol of the Flower of Life is believed to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything, including all biological life forms, crystal structures, and DNA molecules. It reminds us that all life comes from a single source. Therefore, all life forms are intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all life forms are interconnected.

How to Use the Flower of Life?

Above all, it is a powerful meditation aid, but it can also be used in everyday life in multiple ways. The Flower of Life can be used to drink dynamized water by placing the water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it. It can be used to purify and recharge crystals, as well as to create crystal grids. It helps preserve food, essential oils, and other substances that you want to harmonize and energize. It can also be used to harmonize a space, such as a living room, waiting room, or office. Furthermore, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less susceptible to heavy and unwanted energies. You can choose to wear a jewelry item like a pendant or a ring, or you can wear clothing like a t-shirt. If you like tattoos, you can have a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, or you can try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo as a first step.
