All about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and sparked a lot of discussion; in the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book called “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life”; it is the most comprehensive work available on this subject. Obviously, the flower of life is intriguing, but what exactly is it?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life:

The flower of life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on a number of ancient monuments in various parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC; it was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur Sharrukin (now in the Louvre). Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is a sketch with five motifs of 19 overlapping circles. It is formed by 19 evenly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

How to Draw the Flower of Life?

The indispensable tool is obviously the compass. Choose a specific radius and keep it until you complete the figure, as all the circles have the same radius. Start by drawing the first circle, then a second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first one. Continue like this and draw as many circles as you want. Indeed, this figure can be reproduced indefinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The flower of life is a symbol of sacred geometry. It would contain many symbols of sacred geometry such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other symbols like the seed of life, the tree of life, and the egg of life derive from it. It would even have a connection with Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing called the Vitruvian Man, which represents the human body elaborated according to divine proportions. The flower of life would be linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion that were used to build the Egyptian pyramids and cathedrals. Some believe that it is present everywhere, in every cell, atom, and molecular structure, and may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

These are special shapes due to their proportions or that seem intimately linked to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s detail the main figures of sacred geometry below:

Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid are of the same length; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that encompasses it at any point, all its vertices touch the interior surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, the tetrahedron, the octahedron, the icosahedron, and the dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is believed to be the container of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the fruit of life, a figure hidden within Metatron’s Cube.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “Throne of God” and “Chariot” or “Cart”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer, which means “field of light,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. In fact, it is the luminous body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the figures most present in the flower of life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle belonging to the circumference of the other. Also called mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The seed of life is at the center of the flower of life. It consists of seven circles, like the seven days of creation. Composed of six circles plus a central circle, totaling seven, it can be considered to be made up of seven seeds of life.

What are the Benefits of the Flower of Life?

The flower of life is a form wave that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is nothing to do to purify it. This symbol represents creation, that is to say, the entire universe. The symbol of the flower of life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules. In fact, it indicates to us that all life comes from a single source. Therefore, all forms of life are intimately connected to the flower of life, which also implies that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to Use the Flower of Life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful tool for meditation. But it can be used in many other ways in everyday life. The flower of life can be used to drink revitalized water: simply put water in a flower of life carafe for a few hours before drinking it. The flower of life is a tool for purifying and recharging crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It helps to better preserve food, essential oils, and substances in general that you want to harmonize and revitalize. It is also used to harmonize a space such as a living room, waiting room, or office. Additionally, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain high energy levels throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less sensitive to heavy and unwanted energies. For this, you can either choose jewelry like a pendant or a ring, or wear clothing like a t-shirt. If you like tattoos, you can have a flower of life tattooed on your body, and initially, why not try a temporary flower of life tattoo.
