The Flower of Life is a very special symbol, but what is its purpose and how can it be used?

What is the purpose of the Flower of Life?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that we don’t really know the origin of its creation. It has been found all over the world, in different time periods, in several sacred monuments.

The oldest known depiction to date was found in the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin in Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the Flower of Life can be seen on one of the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient city in Egypt.

Abydos is the most important place of worship for Osiris, the god of the Dead, and seemed to embody the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was then the main access to the afterlife.

The symbol of the Flower of Life encompasses many geometric forms such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and even Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. This takes us into the world of sacred geometry. These are forms with perfect proportions, as can be observed in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), it served as the foundation for the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in everything, in cells, in molecular structures… and is the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra that possess characteristics unique to them, as they form the basis of all structures. They are the tetrahedron, hexahedron (or cube), octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra, and there are only five of them. In order to be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each vertex. In addition, the sum of the angles at the vertices of the regular polygons must be less than 360°.

Mathematically, the Euler formula (F+S-A=2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, holds true for the Platonic solids.

Energetically, the Platonic solids are used for healing purposes as they help optimize a person’s vibrational rate. They connect the chakras to universal energy, thus strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometric shape that contributes to raising the vibrational frequency of a person or a space. Shape waves are the vibrations generated or amplified by a shape.

Flowers of Life can also be used for food and drinks, essential oils, etc…

How to use a Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It helps elevate vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It helps revitalize water and allows for better food preservation.

It can serve as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on our clothes. Some people get the Flower of Life as a tattoo. If you’re not sure where to tattoo the Flower of Life on your body, you can start with a temporary tattoo.

It can also be used as a meditation support or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can also be used to create healing and harmonizing crystal grids.

How to activate a Flower of Life?

On a spiritual energy level, this shape wave is a vibration that connects us to the Authentic Source of all life, that is, the divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, there is no need to activate it or do anything. It works infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be noticeable on the mental, physical, and emotional levels.

Reiki practitioners talk about activating the Flower of Life as part of energy work, to anchor the symbols.

But in its everyday use, there is nothing specific to do except sending thoughts of love and harmony if you want to intensify its action.

How to draw a Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol is formed by 19 evenly spaced circles with symmetry.

Even though at first glance, this figure may seem difficult to reproduce, it is actually quite easy once you understand how it is formed.

The essential tool is, of course, the compass, and a support.

Take your compass and trace the first circle. While keeping the same diameter, trace a second circle by positioning the compass point on a point of the first circle’s line. You will notice that the intersections are actually the central points of each circle.

Then, place the compass point on one of the intersections of the two previously traced circles and trace a third circle. Continue to trace the four other circles using the same method, and you will then have the seed of life.

Afterward, add 12 additional circles around the seed of life using the same procedure.

Done? Perfect, now all you have to do is add the semi-circles to finish the drawing.

There you go, it was quite easy, wasn’t it?
