Everything you need to know about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and sparked discussions; in the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive work on this subject.
Indeed, the flower of life is intriguing, but what exactly is it?

Definition and origins of the Flower of Life:

The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on several ancient monuments in various parts of the world.
The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur Sharrukin (now at the Louvre).
Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is a figure with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles.
It is formed by 19 evenly spaced circles that symmetrically overlap with each other.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is obviously the compass. Set a specific width and keep it throughout the drawing, as all circles have the same radius.
Initially, you have to draw a first circle, then a second by placing the compass tip on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first. Continue like this and draw as many circles as you want. This pattern can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometric figure. It would contain many symbols of sacred geometry such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other symbols such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Seed of Life stem from it.
It even has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing called the Vitruvian Man, reproducing the human body constructed according to divine proportions.
The Flower of Life is linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion that were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and cathedrals.
Some believe it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

What is Sacred Geometry?

These are particular forms due to their proportions or that seem closely related to the golden ratio (or Phi). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body.
Let’s detail the main figures of sacred geometry below:

Platonic solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid are of the same length; the angles formed by all edges are the same; if you place any Platonic solid in a sphere that circumscribes it at any point, all its points touch the inner surface of the sphere.
The Platonic solids are the cube, the tetrahedron, the octahedron, the icosahedron, and the dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is actually believed to be the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids arise from the Fruit of Life, a figure hidden within Metatron’s Cube.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “God’s throne” and “chariot” or “wagon”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into “Mer” meaning light field, “Ka” meaning spirit, and “Ba” representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most present figures in the flower of life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle located on the circumference of the other. Also called the almond shape, this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It consists of seven circles, just like the seven days of creation.
Composed of six circles plus a central circle, for a total of seven, it can be considered as made up of seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form wave that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is nothing to do to purify it.
This symbol represents creation; that is, the entire universe. The symbol of the Flower of Life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything: all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules.
It reminds us that all life comes from one single source. All life forms are therefore intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all life forms are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful meditation tool. But it is also used in everyday life in many other ways.
The Flower of Life can be used to drink energized water: simply pour water into a Flower of Life carafe and let it sit for a few hours before drinking it.
It is a tool for purifying and recharging crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids.
It is used to better preserve food, essential oils, and in general, any substances you wish to harmonize and energize.
It is also used to harmonize a space, such as a living room, waiting room, or office.
Finally, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain a high energy level throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less permeable to heavy and unwanted energies.
For this, you can either opt for a piece of jewelry like a pendant or ring, or wear clothing like a t-shirt.
If you like tattoos, you can get a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, and initially, why not try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
