What is the Flower of Life and how is it used?

What is the Flower of Life?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that we don’t really know the origin of its creation. It has been discovered in several sites around the world, in different periods, in various sacred monuments.

The oldest known observation to date is at the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin, Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the Flower of Life has been found on one of the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient city in Egypt.

Abydos is the most important worship place of Osiris, the god of the dead, and seemed to embody the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was then the main access to the afterlife.

The symbol of the Flower of Life contains many geometric forms, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. This brings us into the world of sacred geometry. These are forms with perfect proportions, as observed in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), it served as the foundation for the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in everything, in cells, molecular structures… and is considered the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra that possess unique characteristics, as they are the basis for all structures. These are the tetrahedron, hexahedron (or cube), octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra, and there are only five of them. In order to be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each vertex. Moreover, the sum of the angles at the vertex of the regular polygons must be strictly less than 360 degrees.

From a mathematical point of view, Euler’s formula (F + S – A = 2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, holds true for the Platonic solids.

On an energetic level, the Platonic solids are used for healing purposes as they improve a person’s vibrational rate. They connect the chakras to universal energy, thus strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred symbol that contributes to raising the vibrational rate of a person or a place. Form waves are vibrations generated or amplified by a form.

The Flower of Life can also be used for food and drinks, essential oils, etc.

How to Use a Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It can elevate vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It can be used to revitalize water and improve food preservation.

It can be used as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on our clothing. Some choose this motif as a tattoo. If you are unsure where to tattoo the Flower of Life on your body, you can start with a temporary tattoo.

It can also be used as a meditation support or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can also be used to create healing and harmonization crystal grids.

How to Activate a Flower of Life?

In terms of spiritual energy, this form wave is a vibration that connects us to the Authentic Source of all life, i.e., the divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, it is not necessary to activate it or do anything. It works infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be perceived on a mental, physical, and emotional level.

Some people talk about activating the Flower of Life as part of energy work, to anchor the symbols.

But in everyday use, there is nothing special to do, except sending thoughts of love and harmony if one wishes to intensify its action.

How to Draw a Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol is formed by nineteen evenly spaced circles with symmetry.

Although at first glance, this figure may seem difficult to reproduce, it is actually quite simple once you understand how it is formed.

The essential tool is, of course, a compass, and a support.

Take your compass and draw a first circle. While keeping the same spacing, draw a second circle by placing the compass tip on a point on the line of the first circle. You will see that the intersections are actually the centers of each circle.

Then, place the compass tip on one of the intersections of the two circles previously drawn and draw a third circle. Continue to draw the four other circles using the same method, and you will then have the seed of life.

Next, add 12 additional circles around the seed of life following the same process.

Done? Perfect, all that’s left is to add the semicircles to complete the figure.

There you have it, it wasn’t so complicated after all.
