What is the Flower of Life and how can it be used?

What is the purpose of the Flower of Life symbol?

This symbol of sacred geometry is so ancient that its true origin is unknown. It has been found in various locations around the world, in different sacred structures throughout history.

The oldest known depiction of the Flower of Life was found in the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin, Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the Flower of Life can be seen on one of the granite columns in the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient Egyptian city.

Abydos was the main place of worship for Osiris, the god of the afterlife, and was believed to be the gateway to eternity for ancient Egyptians. As the spiritual center of Osiris, Abydos served as the main access point to the afterlife.

The Flower of Life symbol encompasses many geometric forms, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and even Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. This dives into the realm of sacred geometry, showcasing shapes with perfect proportions that can be observed in nature. These forms, based on the golden ratio (PHI), have served as the foundation for building famous monuments like pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in everything, from cells to molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedrons with unique characteristics that make them the basis for all structures. These include the tetrahedron, hexahedron (or cube), octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are convex regular polyhedrons, and there are only five of them. To be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each vertex. Additionally, the sum of angles at each vertex of regular polygons must be less than 360°.

Mathematically, the Euler’s formula (F + S – A = 2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, applies to the Platonic solids.

In the realm of energy, the Platonic solids are used in healing practices to maximize a person’s vibrational frequency. They connect the chakras to universal energy, thereby strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometric pattern that helps elevate a person’s or a space’s vibrational frequency. Form waves are vibrations generated or amplified by a particular shape.

Flower of Life patterns can also be used with food, drinks, essential oils, and more.

How to use the Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol can be used in various ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect and elevates vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It helps revitalize water and enhances food preservation.

It can be used as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings), or on clothing. Some choose to tattoo this pattern on their bodies. If unsure about the placement, temporary tattoos are a good starting point.

It can also be used as a meditation tool or to charge crystals and stones.

Flower of Life patterns can contribute to the creation of healing and harmonizing crystal grids.

How to activate the Flower of Life?

Spiritually, this sacred geometric pattern acts as a vibration that connects us to the authentic source of all life, the Divine.

To benefit from its positive properties, there is no need to activate or do anything specific. It works infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be noticed in mental, physical, and emotional aspects.

Energy practitioners may mention activating the Flower of Life as part of energy work, to ground the symbols.

However, in everyday use, there is nothing special to do except sending thoughts of love and harmony if one wishes to intensify its action.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

This geometric shape is formed by nineteen evenly spaced circles with symmetry.

Although it may initially seem difficult to reproduce, it is quite simple once you understand the construction.

The essential tool is, of course, a compass, along with a drawing surface.

Start by drawing the first circle. While maintaining the same radius, draw a second circle using the point of the compass on any point along the first circle’s circumference. You will notice that the intersections are the central points of each circle.

Next, place the compass point on one of the intersections from the two previously drawn circles and draw a third circle. Continue drawing the remaining four circles using the same method, and you will obtain the seed of life.

Then add twelve additional circles around the seed of life, following the same procedure.

Done! Now all that’s left to do is add the semi-circles to complete the figure.

There you have it! It was quite easy, wasn’t it?
