The Flower of Life is a very special symbol, but what is its purpose and how can it be used?

What is the purpose of the Flower of Life?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that its origins are not fully known. It has been found worldwide, in different periods, in several sacred buildings.

The oldest known representation to date is visible at the palace of King Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin in Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the Flower of Life was found on one of the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, an ancient city in Egypt.

Abydos is the main place of worship for Osiris, the god of the Dead, and seemed to represent the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was the main gateway to the afterlife.

The Flower of Life symbol contains many geometric forms, such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and Leonardo da Vinci’s human figure. This takes us into the world of sacred geometry. These are forms with perfect proportions, as observed in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), it has been used in the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in everything, in cells, molecular structures… and is considered the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra with unique properties because they form the basis of all structures. They are the tetrahedron, hexahedron (or cube), octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra and there are only five of them. To be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each of its vertices. Additionally, the sum of the angles at the vertices of regular polygons must be strictly less than 360°.

From the perspective of mathematics, the Euler’s formula (F+S-A=2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, holds true for the Platonic solids.

In the field of energy, the Platonic solids are used for healing purposes as they optimize the vibrational frequency of a person. They connect the chakras to universal energy, strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred pattern that helps raise the vibrational frequency of a person or place. Sacred patterns are vibrations generated or amplified by a specific shape.

The Flower of Life can also be used for food and drinks, essential oils, and more.

How to Use the Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It helps elevate vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It contributes to revitalizing water and improves food preservation.

It can be used as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on clothing. Some people even get it as a tattoo. If you’re unsure about the placement for a permanent tattoo, you can start with a temporary one.

It can also be used as a meditation tool or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can create crystal healing and harmonization grids.

How to Activate the Flower of Life?

In terms of spiritual energy, this sacred pattern is a vibration that connects us to the Authentic Source of all life, the divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, there is no need to activate or do anything specific. It works endlessly to rebalance our energies. The effects can be perceived on the mental, physical, and emotional levels.

Reiki practitioners may talk about activating the Flower of Life in energetic work to ground symbols.

But in everyday use, there is nothing special to do, except sending thoughts of love and harmony if you wish to intensify its action.

How to Draw the Flower of Life?

This sacred symbol is formed by 19 regularly spaced intersecting circles.

Although it may seem complex at first glance, it is actually quite easy to reproduce once you understand how it is formed.

The essential tool is, of course, a compass, and a support.

Take your compass and draw a first circle. While keeping the same radius, draw a second circle by placing the compass point on any point of the first circle. You will notice that the intersections are actually the centers of each circle.

Next, place the compass point on one of the intersections of the previously drawn circles and draw a third circle. Continue to draw the four subsequent circles using the same method, and you will then obtain the Seed of Life.

Then add 12 additional circles around the Seed of Life following the same procedure.

Done? Perfect, all that’s left is to add the semi-circles to complete the design.

There you go, it wasn’t so complicated after all.
