Everything you need to know about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and inspired many. In the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book titled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive work on this subject.
The Flower of Life is an ancient symbol of sacred geometry. It has been found on many ancient monuments around the world.
The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC, found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal at Dur-Sharrukin (now at the Louvre).
Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is a representation with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles.
It consists of 19 regularly spaced circles, which overlap symmetrically.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is obviously the compass. Choose a specific width and keep it consistent throughout the drawing, as all the circles have the same radius.
To start, draw the first circle, then the second one by placing the point of the compass on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first one. Then continue in this way and draw as many circles as you want. In fact, this pattern can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The Flower of Life is a symbol of sacred geometry. It contains many other sacred geometric symbols, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Egg of Life are derived from it.
It even has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing titled “Vitruvian Man,” portraying the human body according to divine proportions.
The Flower of Life is directly related to the Golden Ratio and the Divine Proportion, which were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and cathedrals.
For some, it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and it may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

These are special shapes due to their proportions or their close relationship to the Golden Ratio (or Phi ratio). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body.
Let’s have a closer look at the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedrons with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid have identical lengths; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that completely encloses it, all of its vertices touch the inner surface of the sphere.
The Platonic solids are the cube, the tetrahedron, the octahedron, the icosahedron, and the dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is said to be the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the Fruit of Life, a figure hidden within Metatron’s Cube.

The Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “God’s throne and chariot”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer which means “light field,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most present figures in the Flower of Life, and it is one of the most important ratios.
The Vesica Piscis is the geometrical figure formed by the intersection of two circles with the same diameter, and the center of each circle lies on the circumference of the other circle. Also known as mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the core of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, like the seven days of creation.
Composed of six circles plus a central circle, totaling seven, it can be considered as seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a sacred form that harmonizes anything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is no need to purify it.
This symbol represents creation, that is, the entire universe. The Flower of Life symbol would be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules.
In fact, it tells us that all life comes from a single source. All life forms are intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all life forms are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful meditation tool. But it can be used in everyday life in many ways.
The Flower of Life can be used to drink energized water: simply put water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it.
The Flower of Life is used to purify and recharge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids.
It is used to better preserve food, essential oils, and in general, any substances you want to harmonize and energize.
It is also used to harmonize a space, such as a living room, waiting room, or office.
In addition, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps to maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less permeable to heavy and unwanted energies.
For this, you can either choose a piece of jewelry, like a pendant or a ring, or wear clothing, like a t-shirt.
If you like tattoos, you can have a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, or for a start, why not try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
