All about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and generated much discussion. In the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive book on the subject. The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on many ancient monuments in various parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur Sharrukin (now at the Louvre). Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt: it is a drawing with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It is formed of 19 regularly spaced circles that symmetrically overlap.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is obviously the compass. Choose a certain width and keep it until you finish drawing the figure, as all the circles have the same diameter. Start by drawing a first circle, then a second one by placing the compass on a point of the first circle; the second circle will go through the center of the first circle. Continue this way and draw as many circles as you want, because this pattern can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and sacred geometry:

The Flower of Life is a figure of sacred geometry. It holds within it a large number of sacred geometry symbols such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Germ of Life derive from it. It even has a connection to the famous drawing by Leonardo da Vinci known as the Vitruvian Man, which depicts the human body developed according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is believed to be linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion that were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and the cathedrals. Some believe that it is present everywhere, in every cell, atom, and molecular structure, and may even be the origin of life.

What is sacred geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to special figures due to their proportions or their close relationship to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They are found on ancient monuments, in nature, and even in the human body. Let’s detail the main figures of sacred geometry below:

The Platonic solids:

Also called the Platonic bodies, they are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid have the same length; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that circumscribes it, all its vertices touch the inner surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is said to be the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the fruit of life, a figure hidden in Metatron’s Cube.

The Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “the throne of God and the vehicle or chariot”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer, which means light field, Ka, the spirit, and Ba, representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

The Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most present figures in the flower of life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle belonging to the circumference of the other. Also known as the almond, this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

The Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, like the seven days of creation. Composed of six circles and a central circle, it is considered to be made up of seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form of energy that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is nothing to do to recharge it. This symbol is said to represent creation; that is, the entire universe. The symbol of the Flower of Life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything: all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules. In fact, it reminds us that all life comes from a single source. All forms of life are therefore intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also implies that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

It is first and foremost a powerful meditation tool. But it can also be used in daily life in multiple ways. The Flower of Life is used to drink energized water: simply pour water into a Flower of Life carafe and let it sit for a few hours before drinking it. The Flower of Life is a tool for purifying and recharging crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It helps preserve food, essential oils, and, in general, any substances you want to harmonize and energize. It can also be used to harmonize a space like a living room, a waiting room, an office, and more. Furthermore, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less sensitive to heavy and unwanted energies. For that, you can choose a piece of jewelry like a pendant or a ring, or wear clothing like a t-shirt. If you like tattoos, you can get a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, or start with a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
