All you need to know about the Flower of Life

The Flower of Life has intrigued and fascinated people for about forty years. In 1999, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive book on the subject to date. But what exactly is the Flower of Life?

Definition and origins of the Flower of Life:

The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on several ancient monuments in different parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BCE and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin (now at the Louvre). Another pattern has also been found on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt. It is a figure with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It is composed of 19 regularly spaced circles that symmetrically overlap.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is, of course, a compass. Set the compass distance and keep it constant until the figure is complete, as all the circles have the same diameter. Start by drawing the first circle, then the second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle. The second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first circle. Continue like this and draw as many circles as you want. In fact, this figure can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The Flower of Life is a figure of sacred geometry. It contains many symbols of sacred geometry, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and the Fibonacci sequence. Other symbols, such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Egg of Life, are derived from it. It even has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing, “Vitruvian Man,” which represents the human body according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which supposedly were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and the cathedrals. Some believe that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to specific figures that have unique proportions or appear to be closely related to the golden ratio (or Phi). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s look at the main figures of sacred geometry in more detail:

The Platonic Solids:

Also known as the Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area, the edges of each Platonic solid are of equal length, and the angles formed by the edges are the same. If any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere with all points touching the inner surface of the sphere, it will fit perfectly. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

Metatron’s Cube is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is said to be the hidden Fruit of Life figure within the cube. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the Fruit of Life, which is concealed within Metatron’s Cube.

The Merkaba:

The Merkaba is the light body of the human being. In his work, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “God’s throne and chariot.” In Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba can be broken down as “Mer” meaning “light field,” “Ka” meaning “spirit,” and “Ba” meaning “human body.” In fact, it refers to the light body of the human being.

The Vesica Piscis:

The Vesica Piscis is one of the most commonly found figures in the Flower of Life and is one of the most important ratios. It is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, where the center of each circle lies on the circumference of the other circle. Also known as the almond shape, this figure is considered one of the keys of Pythagorean esotericism.

The Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, reminiscent of the seven days of creation. Composed of six outer circles and one central circle, there are seven seeds of life in total.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a sacred pattern that harmonizes all that is dissonant. It continuously regenerates itself, so there is nothing to do to purify it. This symbol is supposed to represent creation, the entire universe. The Flower of Life is believed to be the origin of everything in creation, absolutely everything: all biological life forms, crystal structures, DNA molecules, and more. It indicates that all life comes from a single source, so all life forms are intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all life forms are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

Above all, it is a powerful tool for meditation. But it can also be used in everyday life in multiple ways. The Flower of Life can be used to:

– Energize water: simply place the water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it.
– Purify and recharge crystals: it can be used to cleanse and recharge crystals and can also be used to create crystal grids.
– Preserve food and essential oils: it helps to preserve the energy and enhance the vibration of substances such as food and essential oils.
– Harmonize living spaces: it can be used to harmonize a room, waiting area, office, and more.
– Personal use: wearing a Flower of Life pendant or ring or wearing clothing with a Flower of Life design can help maintain high energy levels throughout the day and provide protection from unwanted negative energies.
– Temporary tattoos: try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo for a start before considering a permanent one.
