All about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and sparked a lot of interest; in the early 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life”; it is the most comprehensive book known to date on this subject. Obviously, the Flower of Life is intriguing, but what is it exactly?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life:

The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on numerous ancient monuments in several places around the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” motif dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur Sharrukin (now at the Louvre). Another motif was also found drawn on the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is a drawing with five motifs of 19 overlapping circles. It is composed of 19 regularly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is obviously the compass. Choose a set length and keep it throughout the entire construction of the figure because all the circles have the same radius. Start by drawing a first circle, then a second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first circle. Then continue and draw as many circles as you want. In fact, this pattern can reproduce indefinitely.

The Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The Flower of Life is a figure of sacred geometry. It contains many symbols of sacred geometry such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Egg of Life are derived from it. It even has a connection with Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing titled “Vitruvian Man,” representing the human body elaborated according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is believed to be linked to the golden ratio and divine proportion, which were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and the cathedrals. For some, it is present absolutely everywhere, in every cell, atom, and molecular structure, and may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

These are special shapes due to their proportions or that seem closely related to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s detail below the main figures of sacred geometry:

The Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic bodies, these are five polyhedra with specific properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid are of the same length; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that circumscribes it at every point, all its vertices touch the inner surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

The Metatron Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is actually the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the Fruit of Life, a figure hidden within the Metatron Cube.

The Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his work, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “throne of God” and “chariot” or “vehicle”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into “Mer” which means “field of light,” “Ka” meaning “spirit,” and “Ba” representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

The Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most prominent figures in the Flower of Life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle belonging to the circumference of the other. Also called mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

The Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, like the seven days of creation. It is made up of six circles plus a central circle, for a total of seven, and can be considered to be composed of seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form wave that harmonizes anything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is nothing to do to recharge it. This symbol represents creation, in other words, the entire universe. The symbol of the Flower of Life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, without exception; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules. In fact, it indicates that all life originates from one source. Therefore, all forms of life are intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

Above all, it is a powerful meditation tool. But it can be used in daily life in multiple ways. The Flower of Life can be used to drink energized water: simply put water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it. The Flower of Life is used to purify and recharge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It is used to better preserve food, essential oils, and in general, all substances you want to harmonize and energize. It is also used to harmonize a space such as a living room, waiting room, or office. Furthermore, it is very pleasant to wear it on oneself; it helps to maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less susceptible to heavy and unwanted energies. For this, you can either choose a piece of jewelry like a pendant or a ring, or wear clothing like a t-shirt, for example. If you like tattoos, you can get a Flower of Life tattoo on your body, and initially, why not try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
