Everything You Need to Know About the Flower of Life

Since the 80s, the Flower of Life has intrigued and sparked much discussion. In the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work titled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive book on the subject to date. So, what is the Flower of Life exactly?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life

The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric figure. It has been found on several ancient monuments in different parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC, found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin (now in the Louvre Museum). Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is a figure with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It is formed by 19 regularly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

How to Draw the Flower of Life

The essential tool is, of course, the compass. Choose a specific radius and keep it consistent throughout the drawing, as all the circles have the same radius. Start by drawing the first circle, then a second one with the compass needle on a point of the first circle; the second circle will pass through the center of the first one. Continue this process, creating as many circles as you desire. In fact, this pattern can be reproduced infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry

The Flower of Life is a symbol of sacred geometry. It is said to contain many other symbols of sacred geometry, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns, such as the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Germ of Life, stem from it. It is even linked to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing, “Vitruvian Man,” which represents the human body elaborated according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is also connected to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which are believed to have been used to build the pyramids of Egypt and the cathedrals. Some believe that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to special figures that have specific proportions or seem closely related to the golden ratio (or the Phi ratio). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s explore the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with specific properties. Their surfaces have the same area, the edges of each platonic solid are of equal length, and the angles formed by all edges are the same. If any platonic solid is placed inside a sphere that surrounds it at every point, all the vertices will touch the inner surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is believed to be the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the Fruit of Life, a figure hidden within Metatron’s Cube.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his work, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “throne of God” and “chariot” or “vehicle”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba is composed of Mer, which means “light field,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

This figure is one of the most prominent in the Flower of Life and is one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric shape formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, where the center of each circle lies on the circumference of the other. Also called mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys of Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It consists of seven circles, representing the seven days of creation. Composed of six smaller circles around a central circle, a total of seven, it can be considered as seven seeds of life.

What are the Benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form wave that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It regenerates infinitely, so there is nothing to do to purify it. This symbol represents creation; that is, the entire universe. The Flower of Life symbol is believed to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, without exception; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules. It reminds us that all life comes from a single source. All forms of life are intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to Use the Flower of Life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful tool for meditation. However, it can be used in everyday life in various ways. The Flower of Life can be used to enhance drinking water: simply place water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking. It also helps to purify and recharge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It helps to better preserve food, essential oils, and other substances. It is also used to harmonize a space, such as a living room, waiting room, or office. Additionally, it is very pleasant to wear it close to you; it helps to maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and provides protection, making us less susceptible to heavy, unwanted energies. You can choose a jewelry item like a pendant or ring, or wear it as clothing, such as a t-shirt. If you like tattoos, you can have a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, or start with a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
