Everything you need to know about the Flower of Life

Since the 1980s, the Flower of Life has intrigued and created a lot of discussion. In 1999, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is the most comprehensive book on the subject.
So, the Flower of Life is intriguing, but what is it exactly?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life:

The Flower of Life is a very ancient symbol of sacred geometry. It has been found on numerous ancient monuments in several parts of the world.
The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BCE and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin (now in the Louvre Museum).
Another pattern was also found drawn on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt. It is a representation with five motifs of 19 circles overlapping each other.
It is composed of 19 evenly spaced circles that symmetrically overlap.

How to draw the Flower of Life?

The indispensable tool is, of course, the compass. Set the spacing and keep it until you finish drawing the figure because all the circles have the same diameter.
Start by drawing the first circle, then a second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle; the second circle will inevitably pass through the center of the first one. Continue in this way and draw as many circles as you want. In fact, this pattern can be reproduced infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The Flower of Life is a figure of sacred geometry. It is said to contain many sacred geometry symbols within itself, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns like the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Egg of Life are derived from it.
It is even thought to be connected to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing called “The Vitruvian Man,” which represents the human body built according to divine proportions.
The Flower of Life is directly related to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which were believed to have been used in the construction of the Egyptian pyramids and cathedrals.
Some believe that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

These are special shapes due to their proportions or close relationship to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They are found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body.
Below are the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic bodies, these are five polyhedra with unique properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid are the same length; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that circumscribes it at any point, all its vertices touch the inner surface of the sphere.
The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is said to be the hidden figure within the Fruit of Life, according to Drunvalo Melchizedek.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “the throne of God” and “chariot” or “vehicle”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer meaning “light field,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most present figures in the Flower of Life and one of the most significant ratios.
The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with each circle’s center belonging to the circumference of the other. Also known as the almond shape, this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the center of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, like the seven days of creation.
Consisting of six circles plus a central circle, for a total of seven, it can be considered as composed of seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the Flower of Life?

The Flower of Life is a form wave that harmonizes anything that is in discord. It continuously regenerates itself, so there is nothing to do to recharge it.
This symbol represents creation; that is, the entire universe. The Flower of Life symbol is believed to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, without exception; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules.
It reminds us that all life comes from one source. All forms of life are therefore intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to use the Flower of Life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful tool for meditation. But it can be used in many other ways in everyday life.
The Flower of Life can be used to drink energized water: simply put the water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it.
It can be used to purify and recharge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids.
It helps preserve food, essential oils, and, in general, any substances you want to harmonize and energize.
It can also be used to harmonize a place such as a living room, waiting room, office…
Finally, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and provides protection, making us less sensitive to heavy and unwanted energies.
You can either choose a piece of jewelry like a pendant or a ring, or wear it as clothing, like a t-shirt.
If you like tattoos, you can get a Flower of Life tattooed on your body, and to start with, why not try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
