Everything you need to know about the Flower of Life

Since the 1980s, the flower of life has intrigued and fascinated many. In 1999, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume work entitled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life,” which is currently the most comprehensive book on this subject. So what is the flower of life exactly?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life:

The flower of life is an ancient geometric figure that has been found on numerous ancient monuments worldwide. The oldest known representation of the overlapping circles pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BCE and was found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Aššur-bāni-apli in Dur Šarrukin (now in the Louvre). Another pattern has also been found on the granite columns of the Osiris temple in Abydos, Egypt. It consists of five motifs of 19 overlapping circles, forming a symmetrical pattern.

How to Draw the Flower of Life:

The essential tool for drawing the flower of life is a compass. Choose a specific radius and keep it consistent throughout the drawing process, as all circles will have the same diameter. Start by drawing one circle and then, using the same compass point, draw another circle intersecting the first. Repeat this process to create as many circles as desired. This pattern can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The flower of life is a symbol of sacred geometry and contains many other sacred geometric symbols within it, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and the Fibonacci sequence. Other symbols, such as the seed of life, the tree of life, and the egg of life, are derived from it. Some even believe it has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing, “Vitruvian Man,” representing the human body constructed according to divine proportions. The flower of life is also believed to be directly linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which were used in the construction of the Egyptian pyramids and cathedrals. Some even argue that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to specific shapes and proportions that are intimately connected to the golden ratio (or Phi). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s explore the main figures of sacred geometry in more detail:

The Platonic Solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedrons with specific properties. Their surfaces have the same area, and all their edges have the same length. The angles formed by their edges are identical. If any of these solids are placed within a sphere that circumscribes them, all their vertices will touch the inner surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

Metatron’s Cube is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is believed to be the hidden structure within the fruit of life, as explained by Drunvalo Melchizedek.

The Merkaba:

The Merkaba is the light body of the human being. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “throne of God” and “chariot,” while in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba is composed of “Mer” meaning light field, “Ka” meaning spirit, and “Ba” representing the human body. It is, in fact, the light body of the human being.

The Vesica Piscis:

The Vesica Piscis is one of the most prevalent shapes within the flower of life and represents an important ratio. It is formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle lying on the circumference of the other. Also known as the almond shape, it is considered one of the keys in Pythagorean esotericism.

The Seed of Life:

The seed of life is at the core of the flower of life. It consists of seven circles, symbolizing the seven days of creation. Comprising six outer circles and one central circle, it can be seen as seven seeds of life.

The Benefits of the Flower of Life:

The flower of life is a sacred geometric shape that harmonizes anything that is discordant. It constantly regenerates itself, so there is no need for purification. This symbol is believed to represent creation itself – the entire universe. Accordingly, the flower of life is said to be the origin of everything in existence: all biological life forms, crystal structures, and DNA molecules. Essentially, it indicates that all life stems from a single source and that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to Use the Flower of Life:

Primarily, the flower of life is a powerful meditation tool. However, it can also be incorporated into your daily life in various ways. You can use the flower of life to:

  • Energize your drinking water by placing it in a flower of life carafe for a few hours
  • Purify and recharge crystals
  • Create crystal grids
  • Improve the preservation of food, essential oils, and other substances you wish to harmonize and energize
  • Harmonize and enhance the energy of a living space, waiting room, or office
  • Wear it as jewelry, such as a pendant or ring, to maintain a high energy level throughout the day and provide protection against unwanted negative energies
  • Get a flower of life temporary tattoo or opt for a permanent tattoo design
