All About the Flower of Life

Since the 80s, the flower of life has intrigued and caught attention. In the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book titled “The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life”; it is the most comprehensive book on this subject. So, the flower of life intrigues, but what is it exactly?

Definition and Origins of the Flower of Life:

The flower of life is a very ancient geometric symbol. It has been found on a number of ancient monuments in various parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC, found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal at Dur-Sharrukin (now at the Louvre). Another pattern was also found drawn on the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, Egypt; it is an engraving with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It is formed by 19 regularly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

How to Draw the Flower of Life?

The essential tool is, of course, the compass. Choose a spacing and keep it consistent until the completion of the figure, as all circles have the same diameter. Start by drawing the first circle, then the second one by placing the compass point on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first circle. Then continue in the same way and draw as many circles as you want. This pattern can extend infinitely.

Flower of Life and Sacred Geometry:

The flower of life is a figure of sacred geometry. It is said to contain a large number of sacred geometry symbols within itself, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, Vesica Piscis, and the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns such as the seed of life, tree of life, and the egg of life are derived from it. It is even said to be related to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing titled “Vitruvian Man”, representing the human body constructed according to divine proportions. The flower of life is said to be linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which were used to build the pyramids of Egypt and cathedrals. For some, it is present absolutely everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life.

What is Sacred Geometry?

Sacred geometry refers to special figures due to their proportions or their close relationship to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They can be found on ancient monuments, in nature, and even the human body. Let’s detail below the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic Solids:

Also called Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with specific properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid have identical lengths; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed in a sphere that circumscribes it at any point, all its vertices touch the inner surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is actually believed to be the “storage” of the Archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the fruit of life, a figure hidden in Metatron’s Cube.

The Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his work, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “throne of God” and “chariot” or “vehicle”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer, which means light field, Ka meaning spirit, and Ba representing the human body. It is actually the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

This is one of the most prevalent figures in the flower of life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric figure formed by the intersection of two circles of the same diameter, with the center of each circle belonging to the circumference of the other. Also known as mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The seed of life is at the center of the flower of life. It consists of seven circles, like the seven days of creation. Composed of six circles plus a central circle, a total of seven, it can be considered as consisting of seven seeds of life.

What are the Benefits of the Flower of Life?

The flower of life is a form of energy that harmonizes everything that is discordant. It continuously regenerates itself, so there is no need to recharge it. This symbol symbolizes creation; that is, the entire universe. The symbol of the flower of life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, without exception; all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules… In fact, it reminds us that all life comes from a single source. All forms of life are therefore intimately connected to the flower of life, which means that all forms of life are interconnected.

How to Use the Flower of Life?

Above all, it is a powerful meditation tool. But it can also be used in everyday life in multiple ways. The flower of life is used to drink energized water: to do this, simply pour water into a flower of life pitcher for a few hours before drinking it. The flower of life helps purify and recharge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It is used to better preserve food, essential oils, and generally any substances you wish to harmonize and energize. It is also used to harmonize a space like a living room, waiting room, or office. Finally, it is very pleasant to wear it close to you; it helps maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less sensitive to heavy and unwanted energies. For this, you can choose to wear it as jewelry, such as a pendant or ring, or wear it as clothing, like a t-shirt. If you like tattoos, you can get a flower of life tattooed on your body, or to start with, why not try a temporary flower of life tattoo.
