Everything you need to know about the Flower of Life

For about forty years, the Flower of Life has intrigued and got people talking. In the 2000s, Drunvalo Melchizedek published a two-volume book called The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, which is the most comprehensive book on this subject. Obviously, the Flower of Life is intriguing, but what exactly is it?

Definition and origins of the flower of life:

The Flower of Life is a very ancient geometric symbol. It has been found on many ancient monuments in various parts of the world. The oldest known representation of the “overlapping circles” pattern dates back to the 7th or 6th century BC, found on the threshold of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal in Dur Sharrukin (now at the Louvre). Another pattern has also been found drawn on the granite columns of the temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt; it is an engraving with five patterns of 19 overlapping circles. It is formed by 19 regularly spaced circles that overlap symmetrically.

How to draw the flower of life?

The essential tool is obviously the compass. Choose a radius and keep it consistent throughout the drawing process, as all the circles have the same diameter. Start by drawing the first circle, then the second one by placing the compass tip on a point of the first circle; the second circle will necessarily pass through the center of the first one. Continue this process and draw as many circles as you want, as this pattern can be reproduced infinitely.

Flower of life and sacred geometry:

The Flower of Life is a figure of sacred geometry. It is said to contain many other symbols of sacred geometry, such as the Platonic solids, Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, the Fibonacci sequence… Other patterns like the Seed of Life, the Tree of Life, and the Egg of Life are derived from it. It is even believed to be connected to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous drawing called the Vitruvian Man, which depicts the human body constructed according to divine proportions. The Flower of Life is said to be linked to the golden ratio and the divine proportion, which were used to build the Egyptian pyramids and cathedrals. Some people believe that it is present everywhere, in all cells, atoms, and molecular structures, and may even be the origin of life itself.

What is sacred geometry?

These are particular shapes that have specific proportions or appear to be intimately related to the golden ratio (or Phi ratio). They can be found in ancient monuments, nature, and even the human body. Let’s take a closer look at the main figures of sacred geometry:

Platonic solids:

Also known as Platonic solids, these are five polyhedra with specific properties. Their surfaces have the same area; the edges of each Platonic solid have the same length; the angles formed by all the edges are the same; if any Platonic solid is placed inside a sphere that completely encloses it, all its vertices touch the inside surface of the sphere. The Platonic solids are the cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron.

Metatron’s Cube:

It is one of the most powerful symbols of sacred geometry. It is believed to be the seal of the archangel Metatron. According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, the five Platonic solids come from the Fruit of Life, a hidden figure within Metatron’s Cube.

Merkaba:

It is the light body of the human being. In his book, Drunvalo Melchizedek explains the origin of this word. In Hebrew, Mer-Ka-Vah literally means “Throne of God” and “Chariot” or “Cart”; in Egyptian, Mer-Ka-Ba breaks down into Mer meaning “light field,” Ka meaning “spirit,” and Ba representing the human body. It is essentially the light body of the human being.

Vesica Piscis:

It is one of the most prevalent figures in the Flower of Life and one of the most important ratios. The Vesica Piscis is the geometric shape formed by the intersection of two circles with the same diameter, with the center of each circle on the circumference of the other. Also known as mandorla (almond), this figure is considered one of the keys to Pythagorean esotericism.

Seed of Life:

The Seed of Life is at the core of the Flower of Life. It is composed of seven circles, just like the seven days of creation. Comprising six circles around one central circle, totaling seven, it can be seen as consisting of seven seeds of life.

What are the benefits of the flower of life?

The Flower of Life is a sacred shape that harmonizes anything that is inharmonious. It regenerates continuously, so there is nothing to do to recharge it. This symbol represents creation; that is, the whole universe. The symbol of the Flower of Life is said to be the origin of everything that exists in creation, absolutely everything: all biological life forms, crystalline structures, DNA molecules. In fact, it reminds us that all life comes from a single source. All life forms are therefore intimately connected to the Flower of Life, which also means that all life forms are interconnected.

How to use the flower of life?

First and foremost, it is a powerful tool for meditation. But it can be used in many other ways in daily life. The Flower of Life is used to energize drinking water: simply put the water in a Flower of Life carafe for a few hours before drinking it. The Flower of Life helps purify and charge crystals. It is also used to create crystal grids. It helps preserve food, essential oils, and generally any substances you want to harmonize and energize. It is also used to harmonize a space such as a living room, waiting room, or office. Moreover, it is very pleasant to wear it; it helps maintain a high level of energy throughout the day and serves as protection, making us less permeable to heavy and unwanted energies. For this, you can either opt for a piece of jewelry like a pendant or a ring, or wear clothing like a t-shirt, for example. If you like tattoos, you can get a Flower of Life tattoo on your body, and initially, why not try a temporary Flower of Life tattoo.
