The flower of life is a very special symbol, but what is it for and how can it be used?

What is the flower of life for?

This sacred geometry symbol is so ancient that its origin is not truly known. It has been discovered in various regions of the Earth, at different times, in many sacred buildings.

The oldest known observation to date is visible in the palace of king Assurbanipal in Dur-Sharrukin in Assyria, dating back to 645 BC.

Another representation of the flower of life is visible on one of the granite columns of the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, ancient Egypt.

Abydos is the first place of worship of Osiris, the god of the Dead, and seemed to embody the passage to eternity for the ancient Egyptians. Abydos, as the cult center of Osiris, was then the main access to the afterlife.

The symbol of the flower of life contains many geometric shapes such as the Platonic solids, the Metatron’s Cube, the Vesica Piscis, and even Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man. We are entering the world of sacred geometry. These are forms with perfect proportions, as we can contemplate them in nature. Based on the golden ratio (PHI), they have allowed the construction of famous monuments such as pyramids, cathedrals, and ancient temples.

It is said to be present in absolutely everything, in cells, molecular structures… and is the very origin of life.

The Platonic solids are five regular polyhedra that possess characteristics that only they have, as they are the basis of all structures. These are the tetrahedron, the hexahedron (or cube), the octahedron, the dodecahedron, and the icosahedron.

These geometric symbols are regular convex polyhedra, and there are only five of them. Indeed, to be regular, a polyhedron must have the same number of regular polygons at each vertex. In addition, the sum of the vertex angles of the regular polygons must be strictly less than 360°.

From a mathematical point of view, Euler’s formula (F+S-A=2), where F is the number of faces, A is the number of edges, and S is the number of vertices, is verified for the Platonic solids.

On an energetic level, the Platonic solids are used for healing because they optimize the vibrational rate of the person. They connect the chakras to the universal energy, thus strengthening the light bodies.

The Flower of Life is a sacred geometry form that helps raise the vibrational rate of a person or a place. Form waves are the vibrations generated or amplified by a shape.

Flowers of life can also be used for food and drinks, essential oils, etc…

How to use a flower of life?

This sacred symbol can be used in multiple ways. Its mere presence in a room has a harmonizing effect. It helps raise vibrations by restructuring what is discordant.

It can be used to revitalize water and allows better preservation of food.

It can be used as a talisman, worn as jewelry (pendant, bracelet, earrings…) or on our clothes. Some choose this pattern as a tattoo. If you are not sure where to tattoo the flower of life on your body, you can start with a temporary tattoo.

It can also be used as a meditation support or to recharge stones and crystals.

It can also be used to create crystal healing and harmonizing grids.

How to activate a flower of life?

On a spiritual energy level, this form wave is a vibration that connects us to the Authentic Source of all life, that is, the Divine.

To benefit from its beneficial properties, there is no need to activate it or do anything specific. It acts infinitely to rebalance our energies. The effects can be noticeable on the mental, physical, and emotional levels.

Reiki practitioners talk about activating the flower of life as part of energy work, to ground the symbols.

But in its daily use, there is nothing specific to do, except sending thoughts of love and harmony if you want to intensify its action.

How to draw a flower of life?

This figure is formed by 19 regularly spaced circles with symmetry.

Even if at first glance this figure seems difficult to reproduce, it is actually quite easy once you understand how it is formed.

The indispensable tool is, of course, the compass, and a support.

Take your compass and draw a first circle. While keeping the same diameter, draw a second circle by placing the compass point on a point of the line of the first circle. You will notice that the intersections are actually the centers of each circle.

Then, place the compass point on one of the intersections of the two circles previously drawn, and draw a third circle. Continue to draw the four other circles by following the same method, and you will then obtain the seed of life.

Then add 12 additional circles around the seed of life using the same procedure.

Done? Perfect, all you have left to do is add the semi-circles to finish the design.

There you go, it wasn’t so complicated after all.
